  By subscribing to this mailing list, you will receive one e-mail each day containing the Daily Devotions written by Pr. Larry Sydow and accompanying prayers written by Pr. Bruce Freeman.
  
  It only takes a few minutes to read the scriptures, the “Thoughts to Ponder” and the prayer each day. Of course, it is our hope and prayer that you will meditate on these words yourself to make them your own, and that you will expand the prayer with your own needs and concerns.
  
  At the beginning of Lent in 1999, Pastor Sydow decided to make writing “Thoughts to Ponder” a Lenten discipline. What he intended to do for the 40 days of one Lent has continued uninterrupted since. He started offering them to members of his church by e-mail, and since then the number of requests has grown steadily. In 2004 he was able to enlist Pastor Freeman to use his gift to write the prayers. At present, over 200 devotions are sent out each morning via email and the church prints almost that many more for those who do not receive email.
